overclocking

I have an i5 2500k, is it worth it to overclock if I don't know how?

go into bios and change CPU multiplier from auto to 34.
you just overclocked your CPU by 100mhz.
is it worth it? not sure, but it doesn't cost you anything.

Disadvantages? CPU lifespan can be reduced (it might knock a couple years off the 10+ year lifespan). If you don't OC it right there can be stability issues (bluescreens, errors in processing). Hugely increased heat output so you need a decent aftermarket heatsink.

160g velociraptor 10k rpm hdd
Windows7 ultimate
Corsair 600w cx600 v2 80 plus

So what should I NOT do to make it go bad?

Where's your hard drive?

Don't get the Corsair CX. Get their TX line.

Don't get that 520M. For your system, that will be the bottleneck, by far.

What gpu do you suggest? I don't want anything to expensive because I'll only play stuff like tf2 and such
