Motherboard/Cpu compatability question.

I was wondering if the AmberineM-GL6E motherboard is compatible with an AMD FX-55 processor? They're both socket 939 I'm pretty sure. Thanks in advance for the help.

Umm, no. Your board accepts only the following CPU:

• Socket: 939
• Supports the following processors:
  • AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+
  • Athlon 64 4000+
  • AMD Sempron 3200+

You are not running a full fledged motherboard, it is an OEM board, cut down.

Thank you I wasn't sure. Do you know how much the x2 4800+ or the 4000+ run these days?

What do you have atm? You will gain much more performance with a 4800+

I just have a sempron 3200+
