New HTPC Build, Few questions

I just recently built this rig, is this a great htpc steal or not?
(I got the board, case, and memory for 70.00 on craigslist)

I also put in my 250gig and 2 tb hard drives, existing geforce 8500 video card, also pre-existing windows xp 64bit

All together I paid 130.00.


Good deal or no? Also is the memory overkill? I run xbmc with all my 1080p HD Blu-ray movies.

4 gb of ram should be plenty.

For what you are doing, 8GB is overkill.

I wasn't sure only because I thought the processor may have needed some more resources to run the 1080p movies

2 gb will work, 4 gb is plenty for the application of an htpc. if you want your htpc to play bf3 on ultra settings, you'll have to make a few changes.
