So my parents are using my first PC I built back in 2006. 3200+ Venice(haha). I figured why not give them a little bit of an upgrade. The nephew is always over at their house on the PC too. I can keep using the case (CM Centurion 5).

Currently has this power supply: Newegg.com - FSP Group SAGA+ 400R 400W ATX12V Power Supply . Five years old, can I/should I keep using it?

CPU: Newegg.com - Intel Pentium G620 Sandy Bridge 2.6GHz 2 x 256KB L2 Cache 3MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80623G620
MB: Newegg.com - BIOSTAR H61MGC LGA 1155 Intel H61 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
HDD: Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda ST3250312AS 250GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Vid: Newegg.com - ASUS ENGT430 DC SL/DI/1GD3 GeForce GT 430 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
Drive: Newegg.com - LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model iHAS-324-98B
RAM: Newegg.com - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ

$343 including shipping. The cheaper the better but I can't see me getting much cheaper than this and still keep it at the same bang for the buck level, right?

The nephew plays counter-strike 1.6/source. And I'm sure he'll play the new CS: Global Offensive when it comes out.

1. Will the vid card be able to run Source/GO at good settings?
2. Should I stick with the Sandy or go with the Wolfdale? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116381
3. Stick with the GT 430 or go with the Radeon HD 4670? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161315
4. They mentioned that the PC from time to time will freeze up randomly, no error message or anything. That a sign of the hard drive going bad? I'd like to keep the hard drive but it is five years old. How long do they usually last?

The power supply will power that card with no problems, so I'd keep it. FPS does make good psu. Theres really not much esle you can do for your bang for the buck.. Even the lower end "i" cpu's are beastly.

I don't know about CS, sorry

Based on review (and personal preference) I would say go for the Intel. And the 6670 is a better way to go, if you can squeeze it in your budget. As far as the card and PSU working in harmony, the minimum for that card, according to AMDs site, is 400w.

Sticking with the G620. I prefer the GTS250, but I may just go with the 6670 because it looks like the gts250 requires more power. I think I'd be cutting it close with my PSU if I were to go with the GTS250.

Interesting. I'll look into it. What do you think about the PSU/GPU situation. Think the PSU will be able to run the gts250?

I doubt your PSU can handle it as it is only 400W and is only pushing 34A on two rails.
