Decent RAM??

What is considered a decent amount of RAM on a computer now days? Mine has 1.5 GB DDR2.

Decent? Probably 4GB. That's generally somewhere between 'plenty' and 'enough' for most people. 8GB would be high-end, 12GB+ being enthusiast/professional.

For upgrading purposes. I'm mearly Franken-building right now, but I will eventually build my own PC.

If you ever build your own computer, you will most likely need DDR3. Not DDR2, so any upgrades you do now, is not worth it.

For the same amount of memory, all I see most of the time is DDR3 being cheaper than DDR2.
