Hey guys,

I come to you out of desperation, I cant figure out whats causing this!

Almost every game I run, from low end (minecraft) to high end (blops, BF3), has this hanging stutter every half second or so. I thought my GPU was underpowered, but even after purchasing a new one today the stutter is still there. The only difference is the action between the stutters looks smoother now. Its probably something obvious, here are my specs:

3gb ddr2 memory

AMD Phenom II x2 555 @ 3.20ghz

the old card I was using was an Nvidia 9600gt Oc2

And the new card I bought today is a GTX 560

Power supply is 500w edit: nzxt pp 500

This is a video of BF3 showing the stutter Bf3 stutter - YouTube

If you need any more info please let me know!

It is an nzxt pp500,

Its pretty old Ive had it since I built the rig the first time in 2007 ish.

Since then I've swapped out everything but the PSU and the main HDD.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Quick Edit: I heard somewhere that a fragmented drive can cause this as it takes longer for to fetch data? I was just wondering if there is any truth to this at all.

Use your diagnostics of your hard drive, Western Digital tools or Sandisk tools. You can download them. Run them.

I ran WD tool, Passed test all fine. I also downloaded a temp monitor, and my cpu is idling at 61!!

Clean out your case of bunnies. Maybe re-apply the grease. Make sure your fans are working.

Also, your -12V is way off. Your other volts on your PSU is slightly off.

I would look at first getting your CPU temp down, and then get a new PSU.

alright im going on a mission!

Going to the store to grab some arctic silver 5, couple air cans, and check out PSUs.

Power supplys are a universal fit right? I dont need to worry about case dimensions?

I went to the store, all they had was AS5. :'(

I reseated the sink, and I am now idling at 38 degrees!

Now everything runs LIKE BUTTER.

Thank you so much!!
