Processor upgrade

New to the site, so Hello to all , and thanks in advance.<br>
I'm thinking about upgrading my processor . It says in the specs, Pentium D 820 .Windows reports ,2.8 Ghz ,2 cores,2 logical processor . Manufacture says it can be upgraded to ,Core 2 Duo E6x00.Question is ,would it be worth wile, noticeable. I've seen some processors operating at 3.2 Ghz.Wondering if it would work ? Any and all help appreceated...<br>

As you can tell I'm not a genius at this, but would it be faster, better performance at 2.33 GHz ?Not expecting blinding speed either, lol .
