Want to Upgrade my CPU and Motherboard, Need HELP!

Ok so first of all this is my current rig:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Due E8400 3.00 GHz
Motherboard: Asus P5Q
Memory: 4GB DDR2
Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 570
Case: Antec NINE HUNDRED
Power Supply: 850W

So I think my CPU and motherboard are ok and all but kind of old by now, I see many new ones that are way better.
My budget is 400~500$ and I was wondering if anyone could help me find a good CPU and Motherboard for that budget from this website: Memory Express Computer Products Inc. - Canada's Source for Computers, Laptops, Monitors & more...

but because I dont understand in computers as much as I would like to yet, I don't know which motherboard with be compatibly with this CPU and with the rest of my components.

first of all with your processor you can get a

i5 2500k
Intel Core

and a intel motherboard
Asus P8Z68-M PRO w/ DDR3 1600, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, PCI-E, CrossFireX at Memory Express Computers

and you have old ddr2 ram so you can get this

GSKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB PC3-12800 Dual Channel DDR3 Kit (2 x 4GB) at Memory Express Computers

the total amount of money is in your price range and you will see a huge performance increase.

if you want to improve your CPU and motherboard, also add a memory there as David sayed... cant upgrade otherwise :/

Thanks but what if I want to get the AMD FX-8120 processor, which motherboard should I get? heres the processor im talking about AMD FX-8120 Processor 3.1GHz w/ 16MB Cache at Memory Express Computers

i5 2500 is faster overall than FX-8120. It even beat the the more expensive FX-8150 in many cases
