Graphics card Help needed

im looking to upgrade to a AMD 6950 or a gtx 570. i was wondering if since i have a amd phenom II x6 cpu if my computer would perform better with a amd card (to match my amd processor) or would a gtx 570 work just the same with an amd cpu?

It wouldn't matter if you mix or match. I would suggest the GTX 570 over the HD 6950 by the way.

I agree with both points b1gapl made. The 570 is a step up from the 6950 - the 6950 is closer to a 560 or 560ti. Both Nvidia based cards and Radeon cards with work with your AMD processor just fine.
