please bear in mind that build 2 is a bit more expensive and i can add another hard drive at a later date, build 1 is cheaper and i can always add another gpu as im pretty sure the motherboard and power supply will support it (can someone confirm please) thanks for any help.

What is this build primarily going to be used for?

*Edit - Posted when you were still on, but since you logged here's my 2¢.

The Bulldozer line has gotten less than stellar reviews.
Build 1 - for £1 more you can get an i7 2600k + Asus P8P67 Pro.
Build 2 - for £15 less you can get an i5 2500k + Asus P8P67 Pro.

Or, if you are set on AMD, get the Phenom II X6 1100T for either build.
£50 less / £5 more, respectively.

To cut some cost you can get the TX650 for build 1, or TX750 for build 2.
They will have the power to run dual cards in their respective builds.

A bit of everything really, will be playing games on it for example open world games like Skyrim.

will quickly take a look at what you suggested, thanks for quick reply

*edit: thanks, will probably go with the 2600k on build 1 with asus p8p67.
Is it worth getting a 500gb hard drive for £20 less on build 1 and then getting the sapphire 6950 like build 2 (i know it is will bring me to around £980 but i can probably stretch my budget that far, so is it worth it?)

also it will take me a couple of months to get to get the money i need, by then it will be christmas and im hoping a lot of parts will go on sale do you reckon it will? and if it does do you think i will be able to get a solid state drive or an extra hard drive for the same price (£900-£980) or hopefully cheaper

You can still get a 1TB drive, the Samsung Spinpoint F3 is a great drive and roughly £27 less than the WD 1TB (couple £ cheaper than the 500GB too).

Personally would go with the MSI Twin Frozr II 6950, £5 less with higher factory overclock and 1yr more on the warranty.

I know cases are a personal choice, but I would also check out the Corsair Carbide 500R, great case and £25 less than the NZXT.

By the time Christmas rolls around I would expect prices to come down a bit, probably to the point where you'll be under budget.

thanks again, looks like i will go with the samsung spinpoint 1tb. however i think i will stick with the sapphire and the nzxt just like the look really, lol. i know its not the greatest reason
