Im in the greater Toronto area there is actually a canadiancomputers store in my town... am i better of spending a little more and going for intel apposed to AMD??

I had a X4 965 BE and just switched to the I7 920. I have it OC'd to 3.8 GHZ, it is wayyyyy faster than the AMD. I would get on Ebay and pick up a 920, just make sure you get one that supports D0 stepping. Or try kijiji, I got really lucky and got mine for 130 dollars
