It all depends on what you plan to do with it.

Please do not write in all caps. It is a form of yelling, and not appreciated around here.

Look on newegg.ca, ncix.com, etc. Best Buy usually overprices them. And the CPU is not a deciding factor. Several other considerations go into it. GPU, RAM, HDD, etc.

im planning to take this to university for work and casual gaming. i really just want to know which one is the fastest and most affordable for its price. and sorry for the caps.

What is your budget? What are you going for in uni?

budget: 300 - 400 Canadian. not in going to university yet, in 2 years. ill be taking this with me to uni.

Can't you just wait awhile? Prices always fluctuate. A 700 laptop you can get now may be 400 in 2 years. No doubt you can get even better performance down the road. Save up your money to be able to afford more later.

A 400 laptop isn't going to last you through ~4 years of uni.

my comp right now is bad and cant really play any good games. which is why i want to upgrade now. specs:
1gb ram
dual core. 2ghz
bought this 5 years ago.

Why not just get a cheap netbook, and save your money to get a more powerful one when you go to uni?

What games are you playing? No doubt your old system can't play that much either...
