Hey everyone, this is the first time ive posted something on this forum and it also is the first time ive built a computer. But since im not much of a computer gneius, luckily for me my bro is a genius and knows a fair bit about them and built multiple computer but the only problem is that he is never home and very busy. So i will mainly will be using the computer for CAD programs like revit, inventor, 3ds max design and when i get bored games, so i have chosen everything apart from the motherboard. So you have some background info my build will be:

CPU:
Intel Core i7 2600 Processor LGA1155 3.4GHz CPU

So thats my build so far, im intrested if its all compatable, im pretty sure it is but im not an expert so cant say for sure. I dont really want to pay over 250 for a motherboard, i dont even know what Overclocking really is and personally dont see the point of it so the board doesnt have to have any special features for that. And preferably a motherboard that is on umart would be awesome so then i can order it all at once instead of mutpiltes different places. From what ive read i definetly need it to have a LGA 1155 socket, and Z68 chipset seems to be the best due to it having all the features of the previous chipsets and the new thing for the SSD's. The boards ive looked at so far are:

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD4: Umart Computer Notebook&PC Parts - Umart Online® Your one stop Computer Shop for computer parts, notebook and new system
Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3: http://www.umart.com.au/pro/produc [.] &sid=77313
Asus P8Z68-V PRO: http://www.umart.com.au/pro/produc [.] &sid=75971
ASRock Z68 PRO3-M: http://www.umart.com.au/pro/produc [.] &sid=76543
ASRock Z68 Extreme4-Gen3 Z68: http://www.umart.com.au/pro/produc [.] &sid=78697

Im liking the ASRock z68 Extreme4 Gen 3 so far but im not sure if it supports my gpu and ram? A main question im not sure about is that do all DRR3 Ram slots support or DDDR3 ram or do certain motherboard dont like certain model or brands of ram? And the same goes with the PCI slot? But since i dont really know what to look for in a motherboard, im not sure if the ones ive looked at are liked an overkill for what I need, but they seem or compatible. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Heaps :)

welcome to tech forums

it would appear all of your links are messed up, maybe you can try to fix them?

from what i can see without links:
watch that the hd isnt a 'green' type drive. 2 Tb drives tend to be that kind and they are made for saving electricity, not performance.
i believe that you might want to go for a 128 Gb SSD drive. i seem to remember that the ocz 60Gb drives arent that great... but ill defer to anyone else.
i dont think cooler master psu's are that great. try to get an antec or corsair in the same voltage.
RAM is RAM, and if the speed is listed as compatible with the motherboard, it will work. i would look for some ddr3 - 1600 speed though, for the amount of money you are putting into this system and the type of work you are doing.
can you tell how many fans come with the case already? you might not need the extra one.

My opinions going down the list:

CPU- Get the 2600k, I know you don't see the benefit to overclocking but there is one (ask your brother). And even if you/your brother never overclock it, having the ability to will increase the resale value when/if you plan on selling your computer.
MB- I'd go for the Asus P8Z68-V, the only difference I can see between the basic and PRO version you looked at is the PRO has 2 more SATA 6GB/s ports.
RAM- I'm with Jason on the 1600MHz, grab this 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 1600MHz (the picture is wrong).
PSU- Again I'm with Jason, get an OCZ Fatal1ty 550w or ModXStream Pro 600w.
Hard Drive- If it is just for storage then it doesn't matter if its green. But, if you plan on running any programs off of it then I would get a faster drive.
SSD- You'll want a SATA III drive since they are quite a bit faster 60GB OCZ Agility 3. Or, if you can swing it, get the 120GB version (about $210) that way you'll be sure you can keep all your programs on the SSD and leave the hard drive for storage.

The rest looks fine.
Also check out the http://www.techist.com/forums/f76/hardware-shopping-megathread-237877/, might be able to shop around different retailers and get a better deal.

currently i am using the same cpu, I am using the ASUS sabertooth p67, its a wonderful motherboard Thermal Armor, 2 usb-3.0 plugs & 6 usb-2.0, and 4 Sata 3gb/s & 4 Sata 6gb/s; it also comes sata capable equipped and is assisted by ASUS's thermal radar program which gives voltage output, temps, and fan speeds of your cpu

Newegg.com - ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard Newegg's running it around $200 however the price is worth the buy :D

Happy Gaming!!
