Mouse Battery Charging

Im still using a logitech g7 mouse, which uses battery cartridges. The charger that came with the mouse is rated for 5v, 450/90mA.

It is plugged into a usb port on the computer. Since the ports don't stay powered when the computer is off and I want to keep the battery charging, would it be ok to use a power adapter rated at 5v, 1amp?

I do know some power adapters that do just that. You can charge it on USB without the computer. As to what you need, I'm not sure.
