5.1 surround sound problem

I have a 5.1 rocketfish pci sound card connected to my 5.1 logitech speakers. Up until a few days ago all the speakers were working but now only the front left, front right, and sub work. All the setting are set to 5.1. any ideas on why its not working?

Check your cables to make sure they are not loose.

Also try plugging in the rear speaker wire to the front speaker input jacks on the sound card to see if you hear sounds from rear speakers. This is to rule out that it's not faulty rear speakers.

I cannot explain why, but what I had to do is set the system to 7.1, then mute the speakers not used. This has worked for others too.
