Best CPU and MB for the buck?

i currently don't own the antec 300 illusion, but rather the antec 300.... same exact thing except it didn't come with two front fans with blue LEDs... i'd have to agree with trotter. case is the best bang for your buck, really. Rosewill isn't bad but it just doesn't look as classy as the Antec 300. NZXT cases, i found are generally for the outer appearance, but this one (i feel) looks like garbage. the Evo Beta also has alot of er.... "grated" holes(?) which thins out the case a whole lot, and i mean, A LOT. they have two placements for fans on the side for GPu and CPU, but it just makes it look so much more unstable physically.

i'd say go with Antec 300. if you're buying from newegg, its on sale and an add'l 15$ promo code

While the Maximus IV Extreme is a nice board its $80 over his budget, and that's before getting the CPU.
