I've been planning to build my own PC for a while and finally sat down to get my components list today. I want something good with graphics, for 2d and 3d graphics work and some gaming, and plan on dual booting Ubuntu and Windows 7. Any advice as to things I've forgotten about or things that won't work together would be appreciated.

Code:

Thanks for the help!

Depending on the games you're playing you may want to look into a new GPU.
While the 9800GT can still hold its own with certain games, most of the stuff recently released and coming out may slow down on it.

I figured I might have to do that in the future. I don't have many new PC games right now, most are for my XBox. I might get Battlefield 3 for PC when it comes out though, and upgrade then.

This setup looks like it will work though? Nothing will not work with something else?

Awesome, thanks a lot. I just placed the order and dropped the RAM a bit. My laptop has 2 and meets most of my needs for now, 16 probably would have been more than I need.
