An 8-pin connector will only fit in a 8-pin receptacle but a 6+2 pin connector will fit a 8-pin or a 6-pin receptacle.

I'm going to try and sell the current PSU I have, how much around do you think I should ask for it?

If you live in a city where you can actually move electronics on Craigslist I'd post it up there.
I'd use this link from the Rosewill website in the post.
Their site has an MSRP of $319.99, I'd probably ask for something more conservative, say $200-250 (someone will low-ball it anyway).
