DVD and CD-R both use the same IDE?

I tried to copy a Cd and received a message stating both my drives are using the same ide and this is not recommended. How do I change it?

Device Mgr shows

+VIA IDE Bus Master Controller
Primary IDE Channel
my hard drive
Secondary IDE Channel
Lite On-LTR
Pioneer DVD-Rom DVD 1600


My os is Win XP.

I never had this problem before,..neither did any of my friends. I like to keep my HD by itself on the primary IDE ...my dvd is set as slave to the cdrw in the secondary IDE port. ...just do what MicroBell said about burning the image file.... i do that all the time

I use Nero Burning and was trying to burn (on the fly) without creating an image on the hd. I'll try again this time to the hd then onto the disk.
