now that i have broadband, i have been thinking about setting up my own web server with a old secondary computer. The computer ive been looking at is a pentium mmx 166 (oc to 200), 64mb SD RAM, 2gb HDD, CDROM, 10/100 LAN. I could install apache and configure it to run a smallish site, just a webiste with a few html pages ive written in notepad and mabye some small files. The question im asking is that the computer ive said before, is it enough to host a webiste with a few html pages ive written in notepad and mabye some small files

well.. no lol.. regardless it really depends on the load you're going to have from this site.

I would recommend finding a lightweight Linux webserver rather than trying to install a full blown distro...

Depending on the OS, I'd say yes. I pretty much had the same thing running only I had a couple of extra mghz...I loaded Fedora Core 1 and I was running a web server. I'd say go for it.
