Hello everyone!

I am trying to set up a PPTP server on my Linksys WRT54G with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (08/12/10) mini - build 14929. I have spent a few days trying to figure this out and it just doesn't seem to work.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I can not connect to it externally.

This is how I have it set up as of now.

DDNS with dyndns.
---
Services > VPN > PPTP Server
---
PPTP Server Enabled
Broadcast support Enabled
Force MPPE Encryption Enabled

All DNS and WINS left blank

Server IP - 192.169.1.1 (Internal IP of router)
Client IP's - 192.169.1.200-205 (Out of DHCP range)
CHAP-Secrets - "username * password *"

---
Port Forward

1723 > Both Protocols > 192.169.1.1 > 1723
---

To test set up:

LG Optimus V Android w/ 3G
iTouch Wifi Network plus a few external tests

---

Inside the network the iTouch is able to connect to the server just find. Outside of the network it does not work.

Android on 3G or WiFi - Never works.

---

I have looked everywhere and I am seeing different set ups all over the place. I decided that it is finally time to come here and find the correct one.

Thank you all for your help in advance! :D

Try to forward port 500 UDP. I found out after enabling outgoing logs that that needs to be opened or the router is going to block it.
This works for me so tell me if it works or not.
Make sure the IP for that is the router's IP address.
So your table is going to have these:
port 500 UDP.
port 1723 TCP.
port 1792 TCP.

Thanks for posting!

I was actually able to get this working a long time ago without the need for any port forwarding!

I just re-installed DD-WRT to a full version and it worked!
