dominator gt ram with i3-550

So far in my new build I have

2000mhz Dominator GT 4gb
EVGA p55 ftw
hx620 psu

Would a i3-550 be able to support the ram because it says the memory types are DDR3-1066/1333

yeah, your CPU and RAM are compatible.

However, I don't know if I'd spend the extra moola on fast RAM though. Anything higher than 1333Mhz does not make a difference in games, and very little difference in other applications.

but.......... I bet you got the corsair dominators cheaply too right? haha

I wish I knew that the faster memory didnt matter because the ram cost me 90 dollars. I could've gotten around 16gb of ram for the same price. I will also be getting a 6870 will it be bottlenecked by the CPU?
