Laptop speedtest 10x faster than desktop? help!

look around your desktop. Is there anything near it that will cause interference?

Try this:

Network and Sharing Center > Manage connections > right click wireless adapter > properties > Configure > Advanced > check for something like 'Wireless mode' and see if it's in B or G or auto.

hmm not really, but I did just pull away folding table (I am using temporarily until I move back into school) and I got 1.8 mb/s

ok and I just moved it back now im getting 3.22

WTF and I just tested again and got 5mb/s! were the metal legs of the table maybe messing with it? its back in basically the same location but is working
