Ok folks here's the dillema I've been facing lately. I have been working on my own machine for the last couple of days to try and figure out why Advanced Power Management won't let me do anything other than restart or shutdown. It will lock up if I either let it suspend or if i try the hibernate feature for a quick "Oh crap its lightening out" shutdown .

It would do this with my old HDD. I've checked everything in Device manager to see whats up, and everything except for my scanner is signed digitally by "Microsoft XP publisher".

Is there a registry hack i can do to get around it?

Have you downloaded all available windows updates from windowsupdate.microsoft.com?

There is usually a slew of fixes for ACPI there.

According to Windows Update, there are no new fixes for my machine. Is there anything that can be used as a workaround?

Well, the thing is that doesn't make sense is that it worked w/ my OLD HDD that i had before it crashed.

Well, i tell ya what folks.... I solved it.

What I had to do is reinstall the MS drivers for my Video Card. Talk about having complete control over a PC...
