Formatting problems!

hi guys,
I recently purchased a ocz vertex 2 60gb drive
And i seem to have a little predicament
The drive does not come formatted and i want to use it as my boot drive for windows
I am really confused,
I don't have windows on my computer and was wondering:

Can i install windows onto the drive without formating it?
Will windows format it automatically before installing the OS?
Can i format it without windows?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Near the beginning of the Windows install, you are given the option to format your drive and set up your partitions if needed.
