They already have the peripherals and I have the OS for it.

This is for gaming. Pre-builts are not worth smack for gaming. I would have to replace the PSU and GPU (at a minimum) for that. Thanks for the suggestions, though.

|his built system, while roughly the same specs, is 5 times better quality than the prebuilts.

Pebuilts are notorious or using sub par and just the bare nessesary parts to make things that affordable.

The 399 system has no dedicated gpu,and to add one will most likely require a psu update.

Building is a better option mainly due to you get better quality parts for the same price.
