k guys this is a strange one, i just built my friend a new comp using the abit nf7 board,i gave him my grafix card and my cpu which is a 2800xp barton, now the strange thing is on his machine with uguru his temps are only registring as 37c stock and 42 under load and this is with one fan and his cpu fan with standard hs,when this cpu was in my board with 8 fans (abit an7) i was getting 44c stock and 50 under load with uguru, this is a big jump in temps considering the cooling diference,so the question is, are the temp readings realy correct, this worrys me a little

Most temp readings are inaccurate. Usually the actual temp is 5C lower or higher than what the reading is. The most accurate way to find temps is to get a fan controller that has temperature probes that you can stick under your cpu.

stuff like rheobus' do a good job of monitoring temps since they have higher quality sensors that can be placed in better spots than the good-for-almost-nothing stock monitors...
