Update Bugs and Requests

With the new layout i am going to also start moving some threads that should be in other areas. Such as the Gparted Usage Tutorial thread and the Stop BSoD codes and that. They should be in the Tutorial area and i will leave a permanent redirect up for now. But we want to start to get users use to the fact we actually have such an area. While the threads are very useful where they are, we also need to start populating the new areas as well.

They should right now. They are still a work in progress.

... if there is something you would like us to look into, ... please post that up as well.

It would be great if when posting (using [Go Advanced]) that in the "Additional Options" Section the Checkbox titled "Automatically retrieve titles from external links" would remain un-checked if we ever uncheck it (or if we could set that in our Settings). Off by default is even better but I assume it is on for some reason.

This Feature retrieves the Title of the Webpage which (for SEO purposes) are usually very lengthy and SPAMmed. I always have to go advanced and uncheck the (annoying) checkbox to avoid a huge string of repeated and superfluous words that do not describe the particular item of interest. It prevents me from using "quick reply" to post Links.

Example:

Un-checked - "ZoneAlarm - http://www.zonealarm.com/" (I would still want this Link to be "Parsed" just not the "Title retrieved").
Checked - - - "ZoneAlarm - Antivirus Software, Firewall, Spyware Removal, Virus Scan: Computer Security by ZoneAlarm"

Another annoyance is the "Tab stripping" performed by the Editor, that ruins alignment of Tables. Any Tabs or multiple Spaces are replaced by a single Space character.

I'd like to bring back that "Like" button on posts that was present for only like half a day

For links, you can use this:

OK, thanks. Would be easier if we could just un-check that Box though.

I also noticed that when you re-edit your own Post ("Pencil" Icon) that the "Go Advanced" Button is present but clicking on it does nothing (at least using Firefox 7).

So, is anyone else missing the top banner? Did I miss an update where this was mentioned?
