dropped laptop

I have a HP DV7 2185dx that fell off my desk. It was still working but after I powered it down it would never power back up. It fell on the back left corner from less than three feet. My buddy took it apart and put it back together but still does not work. No visible damage inside. Any ideas to get this thing to work again? Also is there a market for the used parts? Thanks

Could have dislodged something. Does it work with only the power or battery? (take the battery out for power)

Really does not work at all now. When I push the power on button the disk image flashes a bunch of times and then quits. No power up at all. Before I powered it down after the drop it was working like normal.

It doesn't work with the battery out? Only on the power cord?

Could possibly have busted the top panel, where your power button is.

Ok, let us try this again. It does not matter if I have it plugged into the wall or if it is on battery power. I push the power button, the disk image light flashes a bunch of times, and then nothing. Also I changed the hard drive unit to see if that would help but of course it did not. And thanks
