CD drive not working

The last thing I did before it stopped working is making a copy of my cds.

The CD is struck in the drive alrite...but it should show the device in the device manager. ..ummm...
I wud recommend you to change the power cables for your DVD ROM

If you dont have an emergency eject hole [ a small hole in front of the drive] , you have to manually unscew the casing and take out the disc.! [iff the warrant period is over]

And then it wouldn't open after you burned a disc? or did you restart or what?

No, during the copying, the computer just froze.
