this is my first time building a pc and just wanted to make sure that everything would work together.

That PSU might be a little lacking. It's a good one yes, but I'd buy a bigger one in case you ever want to upgrade. Look at the Antec's 550W.

Why just get a 500GB HDD? 1TB is only like $10 more. WD is king, though. ;)

Don't get AS5, get TX-2 instead. It's a much better paste than AS5. Slaymate would agree with me.

For wireless, Edimax or Encore. I have used their products in the past, had no problems.
 
That Phenom II X2 555 might unlock to a quad but it is a dice shoot. You might want to go ahead and go with an Athlon II x4 unless you wouldn't mind being stuck on a dual core it if doesn't.

The Acer S211HLbd looks nice, but go for all the real estate you can.
