Hi i am looking to buy a new PC, a custom built one, but i am not sure how to go about it or what i need, i want a desktop that will be able to run crysis 2 to the max, but within a reasonable budget range of maximum £900

here are my current specs on the PC i am running:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6550 @ 2.33GHz
Ram:2.0 GB
GeForce 8800 GT

I have had this PC for a few years now, and wanted to get a new one, any help on which better graphics card i need or a processor would be great thanks.

I was thinking of buying one from pcspeciliast, alienware or computer planet, but also not sure which is the best site and value for money.

Just don't get Alienware. It's a waste of money. Why not try Aria? I know a guy that works there. They make custom systems.

Thanks, ill try Aria, but im still not sure whats the best graphics and processor to get within my budget.

Custom Gaming PC Hardware | Gaming computer systems | Home Cinema, Theatre Systems | Media Centre PC is a good site for custom-builts - they seem to be one of the cheapest around. Definitely don't go for Alienware (horrendously overpriced and bad quality).

I'd suggest building your own, if you think you'd be able to. It's usually cheaper compared to buying a similar-specced pre-built system, and you get to pick every part that goes into it (or I will, if you want), meaning that you get high-quality parts instead of the cheaper, low-quality parts that a company would pick. And, it's only slightly more difficult than putting a LEGO kit together.

Either way you decide to go, with either building it yourself, or buying it through a site (do whichever feels more comfortable) I'd go with an i5 2500k and a gtx570 if you can afford it, otherwise a 6950/6870 or gtx560 TI. If you plan on overclocking then that's something to take into consideration for a motherboard and ram. and if you do want to overclock then I would definitely recommend that you build the computer yourself.

Hi mate, I assume you are from the UK as you mentioned PCSpecialist. I work at Aria as a system builder, We do custom builds aswell as bundles. Or you could phone up tele-sales and they would spec you one exactly to your requirements. If you did that we'd install windows, overclock and build/configure your computer for £49.99 Inc Vat.

Here's a nice system we do for the price:

Gladiator AsuNDeR K Gaming PC (Sandy Bridge REV B3) - Aria PC

Obviously you can request a different case/whatever parts you don't like etc.

Or you could get one of these overclocked bundles:

Gladiator Core i5 2500K 4.50GHz 8GB Pre-Built Overclocked Bundle (Sandy Bridge REV B3) - Aria PC

Gladiator Water-Cooled Core i7 2600K 4.60GHz Pre-Built Overclocked Bundle (Sandy Bridge REV B3) - Aria PC

Link to our gaming systems page:

Gaming Range - Aria PC

Link to bundles:

Bundles - Aria PC

Obviously there are a LOT of people on here that can spec you up a very nice system and get you the most bang for your buck, Including me.

Let me know what ya wanna do, If you want me to custom spec you a PC let me know ;)

- Josh.
