I have an idea to record college lectures using my new netbook. Is there anyone who knows how to do it? So far the best I have come up with is a USB mic and record to QuickTime Pro. But whether the USB mic and QuickTime will drag down the battery? I have no idea.

Use an MP3 player. Most of the newer ones have a Mic in them.
