If you can connect a PC with one line level audio wire to a stereo system (not home theater) do you get stereo sound? Everything I've read about doing this says to run one wire from PC audio output to RCA inputs on a stereo.

I am not sure what you mean by "one line level audio wire" but I have done this before. If it has a headphone input you would just use a headphone cord with the male plug on both ends. If it has RCA ports on the stereo then get something like this: Amazon.com: RiteAV - 3.5mm to Stereo RCA Male Cable - 6 ft.: Electronics . You should get stereo sound as long as both the red and white RCA plugs are plugged in. If you want a longer cord just search amazon for "3.5 rca" .

Let me know if it works!
