hello
so looking through the box the found an HDMI connector , i currently have an Acer X223W Monitor so i was wondering if connecting it using the HDMI instead of the DVI would make any difference before i go ahead and buy the HD cable and would it impact performance in anyway ?
the monitor specs found here
Acer Support: Acer X223W LCD Monitor Specifications
states (Input Signal
VGA
DVI-D with HDCP (optional)<--- No idea what HDCP means btw.
so should i keep it plugged in using the DVI or you think i should use the HDMI?

Hdmi is cappable of transmitting sound while dvi is not. Optically, no difference.

can't remember what hdcp is, something about certified to watch dvd's on the display?

so being that my monitor doesn't have speakers there is no reason to actually use it .

HDCP means you can watch movies in high definition. A better color depth.

HDMI and DVI are the same thing, both digital. Only the HDMI can transfer sound as well. You can play sound from your system speakers, too. Sound in HDMI is a choice.
