hi i gotten a brand new Radeon 5770 and my computer is randomly shuts down but only when i play high graphics games like SC2. my CPU had enough power to stay on without high graphics running if it's a power problem. i found two solutions one is to update BIOS i did, didn't help. so now i believe it's the power problem i check my power supply it use 350W to 400W max and my graphics card demands 450W or more but i don't know what power supply to get. plz help

Intel i5
windows 7 premium
power supply 350-400W max
radeon 5770
ZT systems

ok i looked into the power supply this is what i found

MODEL #: GPS-400AB B G18
MODEL REV: O2F HH-450NEA

COMPANY: DELTA ELECTRONICS INC.

Google is your friend, mate.

That sounds like a crappy model. Just because it says 400, does not mean that it is the max. It depends on voltages more than anything.

When you play these higher games, it can't push out enough power. Therefore shuts down.

What's your budget for a new PSU?

Corsair is a great company but this is the cheapest power supply they make. I wouldn't classify it as being as reliable as there other models, but they do have great customer support if you have a problem.

Newegg.com - CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 (CMPSU-600CX) 600W ATX12V v2.3 Active PFC Power Supply

This one costs more but it would be a better choice.

Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V Ver.2.2 / EPS12V version 2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply

This is an even better choice, plenty of power and expandability, but it is more expensive.

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

my budget would be like around 60 $ but 100 at most

are the # of watts important would a high amount of watts then needed will burn out the mother board?

can only certain kinds of power supplys work with certain cpus??
