Is it okay to use AMD Overdrive?

Overdrive has an option to automatically overclock your PC. And what it does is it tests to see what the limit of the PC is. Is that a good way to do it if you don't want to tinker too much with the BIOS?

if you're going to overclock I would always recommend to do it yourself rather than letting a program do it. Each cpu/motherboard/ram is different and have different overclocking potential. The program can get a rough idea of what the limits are of your computer, but by doing it yourself it's a more exact science and you'll be able to regulate things with more effectiveness than a program.

You can use overdrive, but you're better off spending some time to really learn the ins and outs of overclocking and doing it yourself.
