middle range graphic card for 3d work recommendation ?

Hi all,
I am new here. I need to have a few PC build for a school project, and I am looking for advices.
I need middle range PC to do 3d work (3ds Max, Maya, Zbrush) and Photoshop.
We cannot afford the top quality, that's why I am coming here for advice.
Can you recomend a decend graphic card (if possible Nvidia) for such 3d work, but not the most expensive one?

I don't know how "cheap" you want this, but the 550 ti just came out. It's mid-range and will do just fine with 3d and photoshop...i'm not even sure you need a card as good as this..
