Water cooling... do I need to use teflon tape on the connector threads?

I guess the impeller could possibly break apart in small enough pieces to travel a little bit but I don't think any pieces would hurt anything or go very far. If the impeller exploded the pump wouldn't have enough pressure to move them.

If you have air in the lines try tilting the case in every direction until you see all the bubbles move into the reservoir.

Sweet. I'll try this tonight. I'll have to wing it though, as I'm using black tubing, so I can't see the bubbles.

Nothing wrong with black Tygon, it's excellent tubing and it doesn't get cloudy like all clear tubing I have seen so far.

There's nothing wrong with it other than you can't see any possible problems. It's just a bad idea.

I haven't used clear tubing in the last 3 years. Instead of seeing bubbles, you just have to listen for them.

And just to reiterate, teflon tape is a holdover from the early days of using NPT fittings which did not have O-rings and instead relied on the tape for a seal.
