Having a meltdown over here, assistance requested please (PC software issues)

Hello.

The other day, my PC got the "Windows Diagnostic" virus, info here:

Basically I did a System Restore and that fixed the problem for the most part, but when I came back after the restore and all my folders and files were missing, but I later found out that they were just "hidden" - a result of the virus.

But now I can't open Dreamweaver, Paint Shop Pro, Filezilla, etc. It appears that maybe some folder permissions are messed up somewhere.

Anybody have any ideas on how to fix this? Ive run registry cleaner, CCLeaner, etc, no luck.

I need these programs for my business! Any help would be greatly appreciated,

I would have done a full format. Did you try reinstalling the programs?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did try reinstalling, was getting same error.

HOWEVER, I did get it fixed just now. Many folders were still set to "hidden" and "read-only". I changed the User/Application Data from non-hidden and to non-read only, and that seemed to fix the issue! I hope that doesn't have any negative effects, but now I can open all my programs just fine. So cliff notes: The issue was my user/application data folder was set to "hidden" and "read-only". I made changes and that seemed to fix it

You should also at least run a full scan with your antivirus and Malwarebytes to check if any form of the virus exists on your system.
