Getting started on my first rig

So I'm new here and new to building computer I'm looking to drop 2000 to 3500 use on this I plan on building this one piece at a time over a span of 1 to 4 months what is the first thing I should buy I. Would think a case then a MB am I right? If so what case should I get some reason I like the cube style from mountain mods. Are they good cases?

I suggest saving your money for 4 months (assuming that is why you are waiting) and then buying. Computer components come out every 4-6 months. If you wait and buy all at once, chances are, you will get the most for your money.
