So i finally upgraded to 4 gigs
i have corsair CM2X1024-6400C4 , 2 of them are version 6.2 and the other 2 are 6.3
its got the same timings and voltage
i have everything in my pc running in defaults, when i run memtest is shuts down right away, does that mean i have an error? or do i have to configure the ram first
cos i know the timings are 4 4 4 12 and volt is 2.1 so should i change the timings manually and up the volt +.03?

I would configure the timings and voltages to eliminate the memory as a possibility. What are the rest of your system spec's?

q6600
8800gts 512
gigabye p35 ds3r
corsair 620hx
everything running on stock
i changed the timings to 4 4 4 12, volt +.03
disabled cie, eist, virtualization

Will memtest run with just 1 and/or 2 sticks of ram installed? Try every stick in all the different slots as you may have a bad slot or two. Will the PC boot into Windows? What are your cpu temperatures? What do your voltages look like, the 3.3v, 5v and 12v lines? You might of bumped the heatsink causing it to run hot and shutdown under a load. Or the fan power connector might of been knocked loose.

where do u locate the 3.3v,5v and 12v lines?

plus i've been running windows fine, ran a couple benchmarks as well and no errors
tried running memtest again and it crashed.
will try taking the ram out tonight
