I am saving up for a new laptop. I should have enough in about a month or 2. I am kinda leanin more towards a Lenovo IdeaPad but a Dell is also a possibility. What do you think? I am also open to other suggestions. The max I would pay is $800. It has to at least have a Intel i3 or AMD Phenom II processor or better, at least 4 gigs of ram, a cd/dvd burner(dual layer support is a plus), 320gig or more hdd. Also 15in screen or bigger. I do a lot of multitasking. I use it mainly for downloading, converting, burning cds/dvd, internet, listening to music, watching videos, and I will be going to school for computer programming in a few months so I will also be using it for that. I am usually doing 4 or more of these things at once so it has to perform well.

I just bought this one a week ago.

Newegg.com - Recertified: ASUS UL80 Series UL80J-BBK5 NoteBook Intel Core i3 330UM(1.20GHz) 14" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 310M

The battery can hold a charge for 5 hours MAX. i3, 14" screen, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD, etc. It is very light, easy to stuff in a backpack.

Although it is recertified, mine works great. Just no pretty box or manual. You can find the manual online.

There are other versions available, as the UL80JT-A2. Newegg.com - ASUS UL80 Series UL80JT-A2 NoteBook Intel Core i3 330UM(1.20GHz) 14" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 310M+Intel GMA HD
That's only $650
