I need help/advice with choosing the proper hardware for my production computer.
This is my first time building a PC.
I want to use it for the following:
  • 3D Modeling/Animation
  • C/C++/Java/CSS programming.
  • 2D vector/bitmap editing.

I need advice on choosing best Processor, Motherboard, RAM, HardDrive, Video/Graphics Card. Anything that can help, WILL.
Also choosing an OS is essential, im deciding between WIndows and Linux.

To give you an idea of what i do, im a 2D graphic designer that is really getting into 3D art and programming.

:big_smile:

GTX 580 SLI Graphics cards
i7 2600k CPU
8Gb (2x4Gb kit I think is preferable?) DDR3 1600Mhz Ram
SSD for your main drive

That's the bulk of what you should need

What's your budget? You should consider a Workstation Graphics card over a regular Desktop Graphics card.
