maybe the prescott just needs a different voltage requirement or something.

Prescotts originally came on 478. so Mobo's with 478 pins require BIOS upgrade to favor Prescotts, as Prescott has 0.13 wafer and L2 = 1mb cache + SSE3.

even if u have upgraded your Mobo to highest BIOS available, it will definately support Northwoods as well + Prescotts.
