External HDD Dumb Q

K so I have an external HDD and I installed wow on it. I open up my computer go into the external HDD drive and play wow. Is this considered running wow from the external HDD or do i have to boot the PC from the external for it to be considered running wow from the external? kind dumb and confusing any help is appreciated

Since wow is installed on the external HDD, than you are running it from the external HDD.

If you try to move your external HDD to another computer and try to run wow, it won't work.

Your game is on the external. Almost all your game play data is saved in a hidden folder in My Documents.

So is it possible to get the game play data to external or does it have to stay in My Doc?

Your game is in tune to your system, every device you have running that matters to the game. And some files are scattered all over the place. In Windows folder, and on.
