Hey guys, I didn't know if this was the right place for this question but I have a Presario and it's Memory Type is DDR2-SDRAM and the slots have 2 DIMM 240 pin memory sticks (1024MB).

my question is I have two sticks that are Samsung 1GB 1RX8 PC2 - 6400U - 666 - 12 - ZZ

Can I replace my old memory sticks with these sticks, or will I destroy my CPU if I try.

Thanks in Advance,
Ray

I'm really not sure what all those numbers are (1RX8 - 12 - ZZ mean nothing). But the fact that you put 6400U tells me they are DDR2-6400 so yes they will work.

Is that your old RAM? That RAM you posted is 800Mhz. If you put two different speed RAM in, all of them will run at the lowest speed. If you run 800 and 666, they will all run at 666.

The worst that can happen, is that your system will not turn on.
