I want to install XP

First step will be to format your HDD. Select full format in order to check every location (takes longer but will isolate bad locations on HDD)
You just follow the prompts to install XP and you can partition your disk if you want. You will have the option between 2 formats, fat32 or NTFS. Fat32 is restricted in size while NTFS is not.

volume size limit for both FAT32 and NTFS are around 2TB. Don't use FAT32 on large partitions. the cluster size will get bigger wich means lots of slack space.
 
Problem solve.. I got my hands on win 98.. so i basically installed 98 and is now upgrading to XP pro =)


ShoobieRat, I don't have any OS in my new hard drive.. but i did have only the upgrade version of XP.
