Installed a CPU Please help

Hey all ok I installed a CPU to my emachine computer it was a AMD3 when my computer was AMD2 (socket).Then I seen it was the wrong socket the company told me wrong so I sent it back to tirgerdirect and installed my old CPU. But now my screen won't come on when I turn my computer on. I did put the thermal paste back on it b4 installed my old CPU. I do have a graphics card HD Radeon 5770 8GB of ram 750gb harddrive if need to know that. If anyone knows what is wrong please tell me.

Try clearing your bios.

To clear your bios, pull out the round silver battery on the motherboard while the machine is powered off and unplugged from the wall. Wait a few seconds, put the battery back in and boot up.
