LaCie 120GB portable hard drive is not recognized after AVG antivirus scan

Hi guys,

I had got my friend's 120GB LaCie portable hard drive and connected a day back. It was working fine, but AVG antivirus detected 1 or more viruses and cleaned them automatically.

Now I connect the hard drive and it is not recognized at all... Seems AVG has removed some required system files. Am running Windows XP SP3.

Kindly advise me how I can make the drive work as before.
Please this is pretty urgent.

Did you try this on another computer? It may not have hurt the drive. Could just screw up the drivers that control it.

Thanks for the quick reply. So can I fix the driver? Can it be reinstalled?
Please let me know how to go about it.

Try it on a different PC first. Then we can rule out if it is the drive itself or otherwise.
